Devout Dirtbag
going to have a look at this bike tomorrow.

I dont know but something feels funny about it, not sure if its just been repainted? forks dont look right and cant find another pic of one painted like this.

I take it all colnagos should have the clubs cut out of bb shell/lugs and on forks?

I've seen colnagos with shimano put on them at a later stage before but its more the forks and paint that has me nervous?

Hi Skelly :) To the best of my knowledge Colnago "pantograph their bikes fullstop". NO panto, = not a Colnago. It's that simple buddy, "if it's not marked as a Colnago it aint ... no matter how god a paint job it is". Even the 1's I've seen that are early 70's have panto's on them. Best of luck, Laz.

Colnago

Looks like a 'Sport'

I had a sport and agonised over the same thing, no club cutouts so i did some research i found a whole bunch of stuff about lower end Colnagos with no 'club' cutouts. Mine was full of panto parts so it seemed unlikely that someone would save money on re-badging a cheap frame then putting a panto mint gruppo on it.

My 10 cents...If it rides well and you don't want to start chopping and changing parts and it's well under £300 then maybe worth a try?

Value wise here's was very nice 70s sport laden with Campag for €300

hmmmm.

I reckon 200-250 I'd get it for.

all the old rx100 shimano (by the looks of it) I'd want rid of.

on that basis, its not a great deal.

nowt wrong with RX, predecessor to Ultegra I think? you'd be hard pushed to get the frameset for £150...

so on that basis...?? :)

pre cursor to ultegra? wouldnt' that be the older shimano 600 like on the perthus pro?

I thought rx was the cheaper shimano like sora is today I suppose, either way it would be going lol

I'd offer £120 tops, then walk. Ebay is awash with top bikes for £120. An Alan was up just last week for just £82 about this size, and had far better parts. Top conditin too. Last year 1 of the lads I met elsewhere from here had a Chesini up for grabs for £500, FULL Campagnolo SR with Chesini pantoed parts, absolutely stunning. That's only twice the £250 you're thinking of for this Shimano midrange tosh.

Never buy a blagg Rolex from the pub because its cheap. Buy a real 1 and know the difference when you pay for it :) Later buddy, Laz.
