If you're looking for different hand positions, you might like Scott AT4s or the more aero' AT4 Pro's.
I've never much liked drop's on MTB's as I loose so much control over the rough - but I've found the Scott's great for mixed on/off-road rides and touring.

Like most things, occasionally you'll happen across some, either being sold here, or ebay. It'd be really good, though, if that niche were filled on an ongoing basis.

The other options are ergons with bar ends
and flipped and taped mary bars
..The Phorm G510 (not show here) is a sort of ergon made for Marys and the most comfortable grip combination I've used. I can't see a way of adding bar ends to it though.

PurpleFrog, thanks for your photos, I have a similar setup to the Ergon grips in your first photo. Keeps my wrists facing in which I like, but it's too wide. Might try mounting another set of barends further inwards.
Those Mary bars are interesting, aren't they? I made something quite similar with cut-down North Road bars a couple of years ago:
Blimey, a big wheeled bike part way between 700c and 26" wheels that I used off road. It didn't have flat bars either. And about five years ago. On trend or what?
