Glaswegians?

Gary succeeded in changing my flight out of London to Monday, 25 February, so I will get a few more days to enjoy the fine weather. I plan to fly to Glasgow on 19 February and travel from there by means not yet selected.

I suspect the festival people will send someone to get me, but if there are any Glaswegians on the forum who would like a backstage pass, perhaps one could be arranged in exchange for a ride in the country.

I reckon I could manage that stint for you.
Only live about 1/2 hour from Glasgow Airport and would love a free pass to anything MTB up in Fort William.
Cheers,
Johnny.

Hi Repack

Was planning to drop you a line when I read the original post about your visit to our fair country. I live just outside Glasgow and would love to get together chew the fat and take you up to Fort William.

But and this is a killer, wife is due to give birth to our third in 2 weeks and when I casually mentioned that I was considering a wee jolly up north the atmosphere got very frosty- Now trying to restore the yin/yan balance

Don't think she quite understands what a great time I would have  So think I'll have to take a rain check. :(

Hope you have a grat stay and the weather is better than it has been this last month, which is pish

If i'm not offshore

If i'm not offshore and everybody else falls through i can pick you up dude no probs. wherever you wanna go :D

Fine weather

Oh and by the way, fine weather and Scotland dont normally go together in the month of February ;)

For the West coast, that's probably true...

I was honestly shocked at just how wet it was when I was down last week. We're spoiled up here - not that it never rains, but Glasgowshire has a special kind of "torrential drizzle" and the M8 seemed to be mostly under water... I have to visit about once a year for work reasons, but coming home feels like getting out of jail :)

Repack,
Not sure if you still need a lift to Fort William as I have heard nothing back from you. I am off on holiday later today until Sunday 17th Feb and would have to of arranged work/time off etc by now as I couldn't manage such short notice when I get back.
Hope you manage to get something arranged and it's a worthwhile trip.
Cheers,
Johnny.

It seems to be under control. I plan to fly into Glasgow on 19 February, and leave on the 25th. The festival organizer has offered to get me from Glasgow to Ft. Bill.

Here is my schedule. Arrive 7:00 a.m London on 19 February, catch flight for Glasgow.

Arrive Glasgow mid day. Hopefully Gary will arrive around ther same time so we can travel together.

My flight out of Glasgow is 10:00a.m. on 25 February.

I'm open to any activities during that time frame. I'm told they plan a penny-farthing on Wednesday race with the three of us participating. Since I have actually ridden one of these death machines, I'll be satisfied with last place.
