Girvin vector 2 forks

Righteo, the steerer is 1 inch but the knuckle at the base is 1 1/8 inch. The frame itll go on is 1 1/8 so the bottom isnt an issue. The top will be? Is there an upside down top hat shim that increases the steerer size for a bigger headtube????

Puzzled?

Even if they were going on a 1 inch headtube the knuckle doesn't allow a smaller headset

On my proflex reptile I have the same thing, it has a shim on the top part of the steerer tube for it to fit the 1 1/8th headset and the proflex stem is 1" , a real mish mash. On my 857 the crosslink forks are all 1 1/8th .

Yeah that was what was on the fork when I stripped it from the frame, at the time I thought it was a bit Heath Robinson

My orange e3 had the girvin forks on and the from was 1 inch but the bottom cup for the bearings was over sized
