Giant XTC carbon 1998 ish ?

A good friend of mine is contemplating selling his Giant XTC Team Hardtail.

He thinks it's @ 1998 but I think it's a couple of years older.

Full 8 speed XTR groupset.

26" Mavic 217 Sunset rims with XTR hubs.

I've sold a couple of his bikes over the years but, tbh, I don't know where to start with this one.

Carbon frame with Rockshox Sids.

I'll try to get some pics.

I think it's a 17".

It was used by the team for a season but not with this groupset.

Any thoughts of price/desirability would be most welcome.

Giants as a rule aren't that desirable as they are a mass production brand.

That said, I have had a cadex which was a great bike, carbon lugged frame which was a great ride. An alloy xtc which was super light and also a great ride, probably the best modern alloy hard tail 26er I've had.

The carbon xtc your friend has is probably the next gen from the cadex. I like the look of them and had wanted one at some point but never got around to it. They are nice, just not that desirable for the collector imo.
