giant cadex 980c seatpost size?

Anyone any idea what size my cadex seatpost is?
It's the early model 980C with simple red graphics.

I'd read that the CFR-3 is a 30.2mm post, I think, but I'm not sure if it'd be the same on mine as it's older.

I've used the search on here and scoured the web for info, but to no avail.

Any help would be welcome.

Best bet is to take it to your bike shop and have them measure it for you. I recently asked about a post size and had several well informed, and well meaning, RBers swear it was a certain size. Well I bought a seat post based solely on their advice and...

...it was too small.

So off to the LBS!

I popped a 26.8mm in there last night and it had a wee bit of space left.
I seem to remember the 27.2mm off my Dynatech fitting it? Maybe??

I'm surprised no Cadex owners on here have replied.
There's tons of posts regarding these bikes on the forum, but nothing relating to the seatpost size.

Is the front derailleur braze on ? if it is giant are free to make the tubing any Internal Diameter (and therefore external diameter too) they want , and 27.2 was the most common size back then .

Mines exactly the same as your earlier model. The frame only one.
I'll start looking for a 27.2
