Ghosty's surprise sale - M730 XT, Kona, RockShox

On Sunday I saw a friend of mine I've not seen for a few weeks, that's just got a new bike.
Because of this he asked me if I wanted one of his old ones at a price too good to refuse...

it's a Whyte PRST-4.

It needs a few parts and I definitely want to take it on (my best bike is a slightly shonky 1996 Cinder Cone!), meaning I need to get off my backside and sell off some of the stuff clogging up my shed.

MTB wise, I have the following to hand, pics on request/when I have time to go through the shed:

Breaking, 1995 Cinder Cone 18". Bought as a work hack based on the strength of my '96 but the geometry and ride is different so it's not for me. Paint is original but pretty thin and prone to scratching/chipping (was this the case with a lot of '95s? I remember someone else having one with rubbish paint and painting flowers on it). Paint and decals have a lot of marks. Drive side BB cup is stuck in the frame, someone with more tools/patience than me should be able to sort it.

Has the following parts:
1995 Cinder Cone 18" frame, drive side BB cup stuck in. Has a Kona branded seatpost clamp and seat tube cable guide for cantis (not a Dog Collar) and an M737 threaded headset. £30?
RockShox Quadra 21R fork £15
M735 XT mechs (front will be 28.6 bottom pull) £10 each SOLD
M730 XT crankset, silver, no centre caps, might have been polished. Biopace 28/38/48 rings also in silver, good condition. Chainrings SOLD crank arms now £12.50
M737 XT canti brakes in silver £15 SOLD
M730 XT thumbies, seem a bit gummed up/not super clicky, but reasonable outward condition £15 SOLD
Marin Lite stem, silver, £7.50
I also have a rear wheel on an XT hub and Mavic M231 rim £10 reserved
Don't have a front wheel I want to sell with it unfortunately.

I also have the following random parts going spare:
LX M560 cranks in black, well used. Comes with one Salsa 42t chainring. £15
XT 739 rear mech £7.50
Exage 500LX mechs, good condition, front is 28.6 bottom pull. £10 pair/£5 each rear mech reserved
Rock Shox Indy S 1 1/8" ahead, will measure steerer £15
Bontrager Cruiser flat bar, slight backsweep £5
LX M560 cantis in black £12

Again, offers welcome.

Prices don't include postage, but it'll be standard RM/Hermes rates for a package of whatever size. Collection is available from east Manchester SK15 or I can also deliver in the North West for cost of fuel if you don't want to use a courier.

Dibs below then PM if you would, if I find anything else it'll get added :)

Re: Kona and bits

Hi.. I'm keen on XT front and rear Mechs. Also chainrings would be good. Could you send nice clear pics please?
Thanks lots

Alex

Interested in 500lx mechs, 739 mech, and possibly cranks depending on condition/pics

Which cranks?
was curious about the LX M560 black, though they are almost always worn of course. interested to see the others for same reason too. cheers

Keen on the m737 cantis pending pics bud.. and maybe marin stem again need to see pics first ;)

The cantis are actually in really nice condition, I have to wonder if they might have been NOS before whoever built this bike, well, did.

Here we go:

And the stem - nice, but the logo's worn and there's a little mark that looks absurdly like a little man with something on his head, waving.

These are in pretty nice condition, especially the front one. A proper clean would work wonders on them!

Same goes for the chainrings, they've not seen much use. A proper clean and more than a cursory wipe off of the wet lube will work wonders.

I doubt these will interest you, in fact they're worse than I remember.

XTs (long bolts and washers for granny ring included):

739 mech - again this isn't as nice as I'd remembered :/. It might clean up well with a bit of work?

It's mainly the back side that's a bit manky. I'll drop the price to £7.50.

The 500LX pair are really nice though (the front is 28.6 bp):

(haven't had time to clean them). Again I don't think they've had much use.
