does anybody hit those big jumps that are made by the crazy dirt jumpers in their local woods? on their retro rides? i did and broke my collar bone and my little finger. ive been riding for twenty years now and obviously aquirred a little bike skill in that time, and didnt want to think i was past it. but obviously i am. im going back to riding some nice safe singletrack & trawling the internet for vintage build parts!

That's a pitty , just started this year again trying to get the old skills back (jumps, drop-offs) Used to do these full rigid and was just wondering..... as the stuff the kids build nowadays isn't allways that much more radical than we used to do..... (not talking about the youtube crazy stuff, these guys are in different league, respect!)...starting slowly though....trying to stay in one piece
Good luck with your recovery

What woods did you come off mate :D in my local there are new jumps being built all the time local to me

IF you where proper old, you'd be grumbling and finding a way to complain to the Council about all the youths digging up your local woods causing you to have to go to the Hospital.

One simply does not bounce as well as one once did when get beyond 60. Well, I don't. So I do my very best to make sure that I don't have to! Discretion the better part of pain I fear....

Local spade brigade are always busy round my way and they've built some bloody lovely downhill runs.

I had a nasty collar bone break 3 weeks ago and feel your pain. I hope your recovery is a swift one and that you're OK sleeping on your back!

As for the jumps, I can't really comment (mine was a bad rugby tackle), but I'll be hitting the trails and back playing rugby before long. You're never too old to try it, it just takes longer to mend!
