Paolini is as tough as old boots. The way he led the chase up the Poggio last weekend for Kristoff and how he hung in today to out do a really top class selection, quite brilliant. There's hope for us old un's yet.

Thought it was game over when Terpestra got across.
Did you notice how quickly the peloton dropped back? Went from a minute from Thomas group, to two minutes when Terpestra went!

Indeed Mike. I thought it would come down to Thomas and Terpstra. I know they are all mullered but how can they sit and watch while Paolini slips away

Seen it time and time again, no-one wants to tow someone across, to be countered when they get there.
Quick Step had to control anyone that got away, then counter with the other one.
Thomas was clearly the strongest though, did you see when he chased Terpestra and just rode the other Q/S rider off his wheel? Just marked out of it as they knew he was strong

Roubaix and Flanders will be interesting.
I'm only just getting back into watching road racing, so having learnt that Boonen and Cancellara are out, it will be good too see what happens without the two favourites.
Will Sky take control? Or Katusha?

Are you serious? Not sure if he's even riding, and if he is, he hasn't a hope. Outside of ITTs, how many stages/one day races has he ever won? One British Nationals and that strange reduced sprint at Romandie before his Tour win, and I think that's about it.

Thomas is in great form and has a real chance, but then so do Stybar, Vanmarcke, Terpstra...

Call me a patriotic fool, but I think they work well together - GT is clearly on top form and BW needs to prep for Roubaix. If the weather is anything like yesterday - all bets are off! :shock:
