Geraint Thomas wins E3 Harelbeke

Re:

Good stuff!

He tried so hard at the end of Milan-San Remo too, pleased he got the win.
So, who will he be riding for at Flanders? Or is he likely to be team leader?
Not really up to date regarding who's doing what

Re:

Good question Mike.
I suspect after today and his ride in La Classicissimo he might have turned the corner and go on to really great things.
Can Wiggins really win Paris Roubaix. Well we'll see....

Re: Re:

A great ride today from G. Went just after Styby had taken a turn, who assumed Sagan would go after him but his legs were gone by then, leaving G with an easy 4km individual pursuit home.

He's clearly in the form of his life and will be his team's main rider for Flanders, for sure. Probably P-R as well, with Yogi and Wigans to give him a hand.

Nope.

Also this afternoon, a fine win for Swifty at Coppi e Bartoli. Lovely Yorkshire weather...

Re:

Is that what Wiggins is aiming for?
Let's hope it's dry for him then as I don't fancy his chances if the cobbles are wet.
Van Sommeren won a few years ago. IIRC he is similarly built t Wiggins. Used to be a favourite race for the stockier rider. The Tchmils, Museews, Tafis et al
Is Porte a classics man or a tour type?

Not a classics rider. To date, he's always had a bad day in Grand Tours, but he's done well in one week races. After a terrible 2014, he's looking strong this year - already won a second Paris-Nice and pulled on the leader's jersey in Catalunya today. He (and maybe Leo Konig) will probably be his team's main hope for the Giro.

Risky tactic taking your hands off the bars on wet cobbles
There's something very wrong about this thread with vino in it, along with a picture of the cheating p....k. but as long as you aren't him I guess I can forgive you for your tastes, questionable though they may be.
Welcome to the forum, I think

lol, how? No form this season, won't beat anyone in a velodrome sprint, and he's no Boonen or Canc so can't manage a long one on his own.

Re:

Though I'm a fan of Boonen, I think that Cancellara wil always have the edge at the end of a race. Seems to consistently show it in the spring classics.
Also like Cancellara for his sheer strength
