1980 Argos fr no 80100
I think it was 653 but cann't remember.I can check though.
Cinelli bar and stem 66/42 120mm.
Centaur carbon ergo's 10spd almost new.
Record hubs 32 hole,Campag Montreal 76 rims with one new as a spare.
Centaur c/set with Stronglight rings 172.5mm 42/52.
Centaur b/b.
Chorus rear and Centaur front mech front was new with shifters.
Rolls with SR pin.
Stronglight A9 h/set.
Athena Monoplaner's.
Tyres to be replaced with a new set of Mitchelin's 700/23's
Seat tube 59cm c/top.Top tube 56 c/c.
This bike was fast,faster than me anyway.Always clean and always well looked after.He did own his own shop.
I am clearing all of his bits out and have only just got round to this one.

653 wasn't around in 1980 ..... either 531, 531sl or 753

531SL was called 531Pro i think by 1980.

JM says the bike was faster than him....i have the vision of the bike going down the road and him on another bike trying to catch it!

That's not an Argos either, its just painted by them. Argos only have 4 digit frame numbers.
 
I am glad you are all awake.As I said I am unsure of the tubing but sure it wasnt 531 and not 753.Geoff was an agent for Argos and supplied many customers with them.I will contact them when I am back at work and try to sort it out for you.It was very fast.
We all sat around after his funeral talking about the times we almost stayed on his wheel.jm.
