Genuine 753 Raleigh or not?

Is that always the case? From when I was interested in such things I recall that "W" was used well after all production left Worksop - or did that apply only to "Carltons"? Such models were however commonly less than 100% genuine even 25 years ago.

The Carlton factory in Worksop shut in ‘81 but Raleigh continued to use the “W” ‘till 1990 I think
