Gear Cables for Suntour Xpress Shifters

bedraggled

Does anyone know where I can get gear cables for Suntour Xpress 7 speed shifters, the bit on the end (I don't know the technical word  ) looks like a smaller version of a standard brake cable. I've been to loads of different shops today without success. Thanks for any help.

they are old style cables .

i had same issue with campagnolo shifter and had to file them a bit .

I have a new one at the bottom of my tool kit, I think it is teflon coated?

I'll swap it for 3x normal ones, stainless steel??

i've been warning our mechanics not to cut those since they disappeared from our distributors catalogs last year......hopefully something will show up on ebay. hmm, now i'm wondering if a shimano 3 speed cable would fit, don't they have an end kinda like that? :?

We used to use a standard gear cable and as chris says, a little bit of filing and it will locate ok.
(Standard cable, nipple on its side rather than end on for those who are wondering what the thread is about. . )

i need a new cable for my 7 speed xpress too..

and on top of that i broke the lever off today..

Might be just here... but I bought 4 new gear cables recently and they came double ended, one small and one large...
They were teflon, think they might have been jagcables?

I ended up using a Universal cable similar to those suggested by FluffyChicken, the depth of the barrell is less but the diameter was the same and they work ok.
