Re:
I know that some wheels cause more problems than others with certain tyres and was concerned about all the warnings I received when I offered to fit a friend's Schwalbe Marathon Plus tyres which as we all know are made from recycled tank tracks, they took twice as long but I fitted them without resorting to tyre levers
I am not advising you on how many or what type of eggs to suck as you might well turn out to be the foremost expert on tyre fitting (BUT clearly I'm going to!) but for the benefit others of less experience (see what I did there!) this is the key...
It is really important that the first edge fitted sits perfectly in the centre of the wheel and needs to be coaxed every few seconds back into the centre as this is the smallest diameter part of the wheel, if you allow this edge to naturally return to touch the side of the rim it will be sat at the largest diameter of the wheel and will severely restrict getting the other side on. You need to constantly work your way around and squeeze all the tyre that is on to get it fitted to the centre. Put them in the sun for an hour or two helps too, although you may have a bit of a wait
