Greetings, from across the pond -- I'm a USA classic bicycle enthusiast who bought this 50s-60s FW Evans frame from Hilary Stone awhile back.
P1000913
It has one feature that perplexes me: Instead of the usual middle portion of the Evans shop's head/seat tube decal from that era
IMG_1526
it has an elliptical badge, with what appears to be R ensconced in C, in calligraphic script:
P1000885 P1000910
I'm wondering whether any of you have seen such a decal on a bike; I haven't been able to find one through internet searches. I suspect that either a club, owner, or builder is signified. Evans had some outside constructors, as well as the resident builder Harry Healey, from what I've gathered. I won't even hope that Charles Rogers (father of Chas) or Ron Cooper was involved -- but I'd like to know what the variation on the usual badge means.
For what it's worth, the CR badge is of thicker material than the normal shop decals; perhaps not a transfer at all, but an appliqué. Still, looks quite old, and the center portion is transparent (now translucent and yellowed), and it doesn't seem to be covering up the standard "The Evans" logo. I plan to have these replicated before attending to dropout repair/replacement, and refinishing.
If you'd like to see more photos, they're here:

Thanks for looking,
