Funk A.S.F; another unicorn…

Does it need servicing? It’s never been used but is it going to work as intended after 30 years of dormancy?
I'd have it serviced. Any sort of rubber seal is going to be rock hard and unwilling to do it's job after this amount of time.

Those were my thoughts as well but the shipping and duty is going to cost more than the service!

Well, depends on what you want to do with the bike then.

Have you tried looking for someone to service this shock in the UK?

In all probability it will be a dust collector but it would be nice to know that it could be ridable...

I found a thread about getting these serviced in the UK and it seems that Mick Gardner Racing (MGR) might be an option but I've not contacted them yet.

… in the meantime @M-Power sent me this rather lovely SRP 1”1/8 Titanium steerer that needs cutting down and some hoes drilling for a split pin.

Curious got the better of me - had to weigh it!

I can make it fit but it requires quite a bit of force which puts unnecessary pressure of the brake boss. Also I think this pressure might cause the suspension pivots to be a bit tight. A bit of heat I think...
