FSR owners - help please

In the photo below, from a 2001(ish) FSR, is the wee 'dent' on the frame just above the front derry really a dent, or is it supposed to be there? Seems quite long and straight to be a real dent, but if it's not, then not sure why it would have been designed in!

It's supposed to be there, I've not had mine fitted but assume it's for the front mech to clear the frame on the bottom ring
