I built up a very luxury commuter in lockdown (l'm loathe to use the word 'restomod' but I guess that is probably the best description) based on a 1995 KHS Montana Comp frame and fork.
Went a bit silly with the spec and powdercoat (autumn gold metallic), there is a rundown below.
I don't want to add up what it cost me but am tentatively looking for £350 (which is a fair bit less than what it owes!). Selling as in this new home working world I just don't need a commuter...

* XT FC-M752 chainset, new chainrings and new Octalink bottom bracket
* XT HB-M752 hubs on Mavic F519 rims, minimal use (<100 miles), Nokia city tyres
* Hope QR skewers - rear v. old original style, front newer style
* Original '95 spec XT front mech, rear mech and shifters - all meticulously cleaned, jockey wheels regreased etc.
* 11-32 8 speed cassette (can't remember if Shimano or SRAM), new chain
* Avid Shorty 6 cantilevers with new Ritchey pads
* New BBB threaded headset
* New SKS mudguards
* Random seatpost from a GT, polished and with a titanium bolt
* San Marco Integra saddle with funny internal rails (213 grams!)
* Club Roost I-beam stem with a titanium pinch bolt
* Profile carbon riser bars
* Mankind BMX clear flanged grips
Frame has a small dent in the top tube behind the exposed cable routing donuts but nothing horrific. Has been treated with Waxoyl inside.
