I missed out on something cos someone pm'd the person i was gutted, as i posted in the thread first and was then told it was sold. Not nice, if it was my thread would offer to who posts first.

Reading the thread, it would seem fair to give wadsy first refusal, but that might depends on the conversations you've had via pm or email.

It's really up to you gardensafari on what you do. Being 'fair' is no good if the wadsy backs out because the size is no good and ratbane/MJN buy something else in the mean time.

Personally, I'd take a firm "I'll have it" over a "I'm interested"

The frame is a 1998 size 19.

I've never seen one in good condition. 1998 was the year they went over to glossy finishes and I think the paint on the Explosif was unusually fragile. This size 17 one below had about 100 small stone chips when I bought it (I don't believe in resprays!)

You're spot-on. Both this and the Mustard Kila were very susceptible to paint damage.

The '99 Explosif in grey (same frame), was much more durable.

Bit of a mess

Hi all. Read the comments wirh interest. My wife says you lot should get out more. She just doesn't understand me. :roll:

It seems I'm going to have to put somebody's nose out of joint here whatever I do, so I think it only fair to offer it to wadsy first as he posted interest on the thread first. My fault entirely, I should have put more sizing detail on the original post and checked the post b4 I pm'd ratbane.

So wadsy, if it fits and you want it it's yours, here are the revised did-it-properly-this-time measurements. I'll pm you my mobile number so we can talk.

Seat tube c/c 16" (smaller than I thought)
Seat tube c/t 19"
top tube real 22"
top tube virtual approx: 23 1/2"

If wadsy doesn't want it and ratbane (can we use proper names on this forum or is that against the rules?) is still talking to me then he has second dibs. Then I'll work my way down the other posts if it's still up for grabs.

Sorry Ratbane. As pennance, I'll cycle home up the (very steep) hill in the middle ring. Next time I think I'll just use ebay! :?

If the size isn't right for wadsy (as it's different to that stated) I will still take it.
