Retro Newbie
I have for sale my partially renovated Mark 1 or 'Loop Tail' Raleigh Burner.
The reason for sale is it needs a new bottom bracket. The original 'hex bolt' bracket has recently broken. The cost for me to replace it is too high considering I am looking to purchase a road bike.
I have owned the bike for around 8 months, the previous owner stripped the paint, sanded away rust, replaced the rims, replaced the seat bracket and handlebars. The front and rear brakes have also been updated.
Since I have owned it I have added decals, bought skyway grips, tyres, inner tubes, replaced rear wheel bearing, replaced chain and replaced the pedals.
This is very much a bike that has been ridden but not abused. There are obvious signs of use including paint chips from stones and in some cases the decals have been chipped. Most of the original bolts have been reused but are rusty.
This bike is for someone who is able to repair bikes and is looking for a bike to ride, not simply look at. In the short period of my ownership I have received many compliments while riding the bike, it definitely stands out among other bikes.
The previously NOS San Marco MX seat will be sold separately. I will be selling both items through eBay, I feel this will eliminate doubts over reliability due to my 100% rating on eBay. Extra photos can be supplied upon request.
