Front mech for Orange C16-R

My front mech snapped while out on a ride at the weekend.

Wondering if anyone knows if I _need_ a 'top swing' replacement ... as looking at it I'm wondering if a conventional one will foul on the bottle cage mount?



Any advice appreciated.

You can use a high band style, but you may have to space out your bottle cage to clear the band ( depends on cage).

Usually 31.8mm band bottom swing, top pull like an m739 is what is fitted from factory, but I have successfully fitted a high band top pull m900 so either way. What tooth count is the big ring?

It's a 42T - not the original.

So you'd expect it to fit above the bottle mount?

I see what you mean about mounting a bottle cage, it would need to be spaced out a bit

As Matt says you can fit a top band mech. I have Matts' old C16-R with M900 front mech with an M739 chainset the same as yours and it all works fine.

Excellent - thanks for that, gives me a bit of flexibility in getting a replacement.
