Front derallieur for old pine marin

Scowered the forums but to no avail.
I have an old exage500lx FD from my dynatech sentinel which after rebuilding the Marin thought I could just pop on. However it doesnt fit.. it seems the frmae on the Marin is larger but i cant find the size anywhere.

So question.. any idea the size of tube? What type of FD do I need?
Can anyone suggest a new FD which would fit?

Derailleur clamps come in three common sizes and a couple of uncommon ones. The three common sizes are 28.6mm, 31.8mm, and 34.9mm. I would've expected both of your frames to require a 28.6mm clamp, but if the clamp from the DynaTech won't fit the Marin, that may be a false assumption.

The simplest option would be to measure the two frames. If you don't have a Vernier caliper, you can just wrap a sheet of paper around the tube, mark it with a sharp pencil, measure with a ruler, and divide by pi.

pine mountain? do you know which year it is?

assuming a 1990-1996 it should be bottom pull and 28.6. however being too small for the marin suggests 31.8 unless the dyna-tech has a freak band size.
if possible stick a photo of the marin on for us.

My 1991 Pine Mtn was 31.8.
