This was all very difficult!
I have sourced from a friend nice nick Z2s. The steerer and I suspect travel shorter than ideal, but will I hope be ok as a stop-gap until a more modern hardtail comes along.

Only a few '00 yards on local streets, but they go up and down and smoothly! Not yet sure what, if anything, the blue "adjusters" each with +/- direction arrows do.
But I reckon will reduce the hand and wrist pain so that'll do!
It’s preload adjuster for the springs to adjust responsiveness.
To be honest I’m not good enough to notice the difference so basically screw them in and then let them out 4 full turns. In theory given you are a lighter rider you will want them out a bit more to feel more responsive.
