This is a Hybrid Sinister Splinter ('04/'06) which I picked up in 2008 from FTW Industries in Vermont (Regards to FTW):
Why hybrid?...The front triangle is a Splinter ER & Rear is what was described as a proto Splinter MX---Set-Up @ 5" travel for boney/rocky XC trail use
The Rear Shock=Magura Hugin--Bike has new cartridge bearings all around & new bushings installed for push/pull rod lower mount. Frank gave me a new set of decals for the bike since I was considering a re-spray though for now it remains orange. Bike was taken down to frame/fork to ready for possible re-spray, but since I spend most of time on my new Morewood, I'm still not too sure if I'm going to keep this special ride.
* I'm curious, which paint color would you choose if this Splinter were yours?
** I prefer powder coating for MTBs, but should I consider going with a wet?
*** Should I keep this frame or just move it on to another rider?
