Just looking at ebay and I can pick up a Mark4 (whatever that is) Sky approved dish (should be fine ?) with quad LNB for less than £30.
ebay link to search
So seem right I should pop one up and use it since me TV is capable.

Anything to look out for, LNB quality, other people that have done it.

To to up and Sat's but can wire the house as I like if I DIY and put the dish where I liek as well.

I've had a cheapo LNB running for years no problems.
Stick up the dish, point it in the general direction of everyone elses, pay attention if there's a tree in the way with no leaves now but will have in summer.

If you TV has a freesat tuner built in then go for it, you'd be mad not too.
Freesat is about the best freeview service.

Previous owners of our house left the dish up. We just plugged in our freesat TV and away we go!

Freesat via a Dreambox Satellite Receiver is even better

Forgot about this, I went ahead and bought one of ebay. All set up and running into the telly with minimal fuss (from the dish alignment point of view)
1st alignment (guestimate with direction) hit the area and could pickup from the sats, but wouldn't lock with freesat.
Second got freesat. 3rd didn't. 4th had it again even better. Taking into account this was over Christmas, it was freezing and full of snow
Wanted to see if I could get any better on the 5th so nudged up upwards a touch and hey presto getting 8/9 9 on the main channels out of 10 with a damn fine picture I must say :D

Will eventually get one of them few quids signal meters from hong kong/china to get it marginally better just cos I feel I have to

Next jop is to hook net cable up to the telly for iPlayer and eventual ITV player when the finally launch.

Now I've just found out the F1GP will be in HD as well :)
Wife's liking the ice dancing in HD as well
