Framebuilding courses

Hey all,

Thinking at some point in the near future I might invest in / treat myself to a framebuilding course... I'm making an effort to build up my technical skills with a view to progressing my little cycle business (and also this is something I've long fancied trying my hand at)!

So looking for any recommendations please folks

Ideally in the North of England - I'm in Manchester and don't have a car ATM.

And - even better - where the total price would include taking home a finished frame that I've built myself :mrgreen:

There's the Dave Yates one, don't know of any others.

The yates course is notable for not really teaching you how to build a frame, it's more of a guided framebuild. Bicycle academy is the best for actually learning how to build frames, and will be starting a course where you get to keep the frame soon. It's in somerset though.

You might also consider the Framebuilding Course at Swallow Cycles/Bicycles by Design at Ironbridge/Jackfield near Telford. (Train from Manchester)
Lugged steel road frame & forks, probably. 5 days 1 to 1 tuition, £850 + materials (£150-£400), unpainted.
Taught by Pete Bird or Robert Wade.
