FRAME ID

Seeking help identifying this frame please ,
had it for about 8 years but bought it second hand and was informed that it was a stumpjumper . It came with a full stx rc groupset and mavic rims .
the frame is very light weight and was originally red but it has some fading now and appears orange .
it differs from stumpjumpers I have looked at in the cable routing !
I belive it must be a good quality frame as it is very light and quite stiff .
when I puchased it , it had steel rigid forks but was told that it had originally had rockshox but they had been damaged so cheap forks had been fitted temporarily untill the guy found some pace ones .

The replaceable dropout looks like the one on my daughter's Norco....

Definately not anything Specialized..

Commonista Generica by the looks of it. Very standard looking everything - fine to ride but not to make oodles of cash out of.

double s-bend makes it late 90's. S98 in the serial number might be a a hint to that, too.

I have read somewhere that the frame number could make it a Sunn
" S " for Sunn and 98 for the year .
I have searched everything and everywhere I can think of but cannot find
anything else that is the same !!
it was really nice to ride when I first got it , very balanced and flickable !
Just thinking of rebuilding it ?
Maybe repainted in pearlescent white with blue or purple trick bits ?

If that little bump on the drop out was slightly more pronounced I'd say this is a 01/02 Trek or Gary Fisher type frame
