Always been interested in cycling counter culture. Post up any creative frame customisation.

Ti anodising started many years ago but its back in fashion with a vengeance now. Who does it better than Firefly with their in-house designs. ?

Grafitti frame doodles and strange subliminal graphics, love it, especially stuff by Squidbikes. Also a big fan of Rody https://www.groovycycleworks.com amazing creative machines. No two ever look alike !

My Ti annodised Merlin;

But for me, my latest frame is more a custom - i took a hacksaw to a GT Quatrefoil and adapted it into an ultra short wheelbase child-back LTS-Quatrefoil;

I was curiously thinking the same. Some amazing build touches though, lovin the drilled chainrings.

Merlin Cycles UK are often confused with the more prestigious Merlin Cycles USA. Unfortunately this is a UK one.. built January '96. It's light, with a nice bit of spring to it. It has cast Ritchey dropouts and a few neat touches but it's signature is a twisted down tube (twist spira pattern) and i have never seen this before, not even on other Merlins of the era.

You learn something new....Looks like a very comfy city bike but one you could never leave locked up for too long.

When i go into most bikes shops these days, all I see is boring clones with slight colour variations, cheap looking mass produced ano parts and desperate attempts at ‘edgy’ graphics. Give me DIY or Artisan Fabrication Customisation to make a bike stand out any day.

i know the uk merlin. but haven't seen an uk ti merlin.
so this merlin is not ti (titanium)...? it's only ti "annodised"? never heard of annodised steel.

Maybe plated, I don't know the science. This coating was used on quite a few of their frames at the time. Its aged well. There are other pics on this site somewhere, when someone made a post maybe 3-4yrs ago now. I can put more up soon but its buried atm, without the cruiser stuff there - back on a 90s flavour with cantilevers and Tioga City Slicker amberwalls.
