Frame and fork size question

I have a frame that has a 1 1/8" diameter fork mounted in it right now. I want to replace it with a 1" fork. Is it possible to mount a 1" fork in this frame? Thank you for your help.

I'd ask why? Plenty of 1 1/8 forks out there.

You won't be able to use that headset unless you can buy, or make a head tube reducer shim, taking it down from 1 1/8 to your desired 1 inch. I'd still question the logic just to use a headset, you'd be better off getting a frame with a 1 inch head tube (in my opinion at least). But it can be done.

I understand. My idea is not logical or practical. I'll get a 1 1/8" headset.
