Normally I'd leap at the Fournales but BB nailed it on the clunk! Probably just a shock service needed ... probably.

What do u mean i stand a chance of keeping them going?

Based on only my gut feeling, spares for Look fournales are nearly noon existent, that shock is uber custom and would be incredibly difficult to replace, whereas Noleen J6 in the states sell new shocks for girvins. And especially given the shock is making a noise, where do you go for service and replacement?

I should add that having bought new shocks for my girvins & 957 that it's very difficult to fit a replacement shock on crosslinks, much more so than the earlier vectors.

If I would prefer the Fournalès, your bike is a proflex. So, No ther way than a Girvin… ;)

I think for a K2 I would go with the more modern design of the Fournales forks, subject to the shock unit being in good order of course.

I really cant decide. Best thing to do i think is just see what looks best when he brings em over and see how bad the noise is on the shock

Like Pace go with Orange, Girvins go with Proflex

Nah, I'd say the association is much stronger than that ;)

Fitting the Fournales would be like running a Pace frame with RockShox.... or a Yeti without an H2O cage.... or a Yo Eddy without Aquafade paint.... :D

Frankly, I'm horrified that you're even asking

It's a close run poll here. Even though I voted for the Girvins here I committed a cardinal sin on my own Mongoose Amplifier 2 and fitted '98 K2 Crosslink Smartshock forks even though most people strive to fit Amp F3's to them. Funny thing is I don't believe the Amps were ever specced on Amplifier 2's, more likely to have been Rockshox. So I had no qualms about this. Come to think of it, those Fournales would look good on my Mongoose!

But in this case I still think Proflex = Girvin, its a marriage made in heaven. :)
