Formula One Carbon with Campag.

yes can reveal more later - probably nothing really...... however he had stored up some 'treasures' that were no longer wanted and were just to be disposed of! I am keeping an eye on what's happening sooooo exiting for me!
PS have a GIANT 'retro' type bike too ...like a big boys chopper :0

wow that was a good read thanks for that......all very interesting and fits in well as the guy who owned this and the GIANT was big time into Formula1

Re:

Good to see the bike has the F1 seatpost too. Hopefully the serial number sticker is still attached to the bike, who ever wins, let me know the number and I can tell you who the bike belonged to.

Re:

Hello,
Firstly, full disclosure, I do have a bid on this (pending some head scratching, see below)...
This is up the road from me so I went to take a look today; the seller was very nice.
Great to see in the flesh etc., but it has what I'm sure is a crack along the seam on the top of the top tube.
At first I thought it might simply be the lamination of the carbon, but when I upturned the bike it left some drips of water on paving under the tube, then on righting the bike and squeezing the tube, small beads of water came out. There is a small creak when turning the bars which might be related.
I guess the crack is around 5 inches in length - a real shame. I have uploaded a couple of pictures. Any repair would be very obvious, unlike the sub-bb ones I've seen which are hidden.
I noted this to the seller, and I think she is very fairly going to update the eBay listing (or already has done).
I was in two minds whether to say anything here as I don't like to seem as if I'm trying to put the competion off bidding, but we are a community here and in the end I think it's fair to mention... I wouldn't want someone to be disappointed and it result in a lot of hassle for buyer and seller (who definately doesn't want to mislead anyone).
This is a non expert opinion, see the photos, I did check with a current Formula 1 owner first who agreed this looked likely to be a crack. So, you can all make your minds up accordingly.
I'm interested to hear your thoughts. (it would be a good wall hanging!)
Cheers
Mat

Hmmm interesting that having said here he wasn't chatting 'online' here is a message - as said I HAVE put this 'crack' comment on my ebay site as the last thing I want to do is in anyway mislead anyone - to date having looked thoroughly I too believed it to be a seam joint and thought no more on this...however it strikes me very interesting that Mat wants the bike despite his comments which may of course have put others off?? Say no more, someone will get a collectors bike for a song:0
