fork travel on 97 zaskar

hi folks im just wondering if a 97 gt zaskar would take 100mm travel forks or what would be the most travel i could get away with im going to be rebuilding it i currantly have pace rc36 evos on it and cant remember what travel they are. should i just use the 36s or keep them safe and get another set :roll: :roll:

I've got a Zaskar of a similar age and I'm running 100mm Z1's. The bike seems to ride ok but I think for fast XC riding you'd be better off with a 80mm fork.

I've got a '96 Zaskar and I'm running some 70mm travel Marzocchi Z2 Superflys... The handling is very sharp - I reckon I could go up to 80-90mm (I think the RC36s are 90mm aren't they?) without too much of a problem..

Although my 97 Zaskar is in pieces at the moment, I did run it with 80mm Z2 forks and will again in future. A 100mm fork will make the head angle a bit too slack unless you run it with plenty of sag.
