Fork goodness sakes ...another question.

Good Evening all :)

Further to my previous question.
I've trial fitted the forks and after installing everything the steerer tube is 20mm-ish too short.
The Marin Ahead stem only clamps on half way.
Could I fit a quill fitment Ahead adaptor into the steerer tube of the fork, then fit the stem and clamp it all down ?
For a temp measure for setting up purposes i've installed a threaded steerer rigid fork, which allows everything to fit, except the Ahead stem is clamped around the threaded section of the steerer tube.
Is this a no-no ?

Thanks for any advice given.

Re:

Yep early noughties Judy's only have parts in one side. I have two pairs of forks like this.

Re:

The quill stem adapter method makes the most sense to me... You’d need to use your current top cap and some spacers to hold the system in place, the ones in the adapters (Or certainly on my one) sit flush, because there’s no need to clamp down from the top to hold your fork in place, as it would ordinarily have the threaded forks and headset.
