Offered for sale is this fabulous, totally unique custom Pashley Pronto utility cycle. This bike can do almost anything as a two-wheeled workhorse, great for promoting a business, as a delivery bike, kiddie carrier or mega shopping transporter!
We have had loads of fun with this bike in the family using it to carry 2 young children. So versatile for short journeys to avoid using the car, nursery runs, trips to the shops, family bike rides, picnics, trips to the beach with footballs & sand buckets in the front carrier! You name it.
We used a Yepp Mini up front and a Hamax Siesta recliner at the rear. Both are excellent seats. If you intend using the bike for the same purpose, I am happy to provide more details/guidance on seat fitment and use. However, please be advised the photos depict examples of intended use only. The seats, fittings, accessories/windshield are NOT INCLUDED in this sale.
Details on the bike.
The heart of the bike is a steel frame with box section down tube for strength and durability. It is a step-through design for ease of mount/dismount. Finished to an excellent standard with tough gloss two tone powder coating.
Extra large front and rear racks. Rear rack can take huge, longer cargo type panniers. Front rack includes the cargo box which can carry up to 15kg of freight. Comfort padded, chrome sprung saddle mounted on quality kalloy, large diameter seat post with Shimano chrome QR clamp.
Long quill, heavy duty steel Dutch Edelstahl short reach stem with high rise bars for a stable upright riding position. Ideal for excellent all round visibility and confident loaded manoeuvring in busy urban spaces.
The bike is equipped with sealed weatherproof SRAM drum brakes front and rear. All the cable runs are fully enclosed to keep weather out and maintenance to a minimum.
SRAM's excellent P-5 low maintenance, internally geared hub delivers smooth 5 speed transmission via bar mounted grip-shifter. Driven by quality rust-proof 1/8" Silver KMC chain, turned by Stronglight alloy chainset with guard and alloy caged pedals. Again cable runs are completely enclosed. Small details like cable buffers keep the cables silent and chafe free against the frame.
Wheels are strong and robust, built to last, 26" rear, 24" front. Alesa 36H alloy rims laced with plain gauge spokes and brass nipples shod with grippy, fast rolling Marathon tyres by Schwalbe.
Finishing kit includes nice touches from Hebie, the dutch cycle component manufacturers in the form of an elegant full length chrome chain guard and uber practical, sturdy double leg platform kickstand. The lighting system is a custom set up with battery operated LED front and rear lights. The rear light features a traditional rack mounted design with bubble lens and large integral reflector. Inside the original case is a modern Cat-eye multi-function 5 LED PCB which is very bright and highly visible. A traditional dutch ding-dong 'friendly bell' warns of your passage.
