For Sale (very cheap) Marin Palisades Trail early 90's frame

I have a Marin Palisades trail which I semi-fixed up a few years ago but cheaped out when I realised it needed a new cassette and chain. So I ended up leaving it in the corner of my shed and scavenging bits off it.

The frame is pretty nice, light USA made aluminium. But there is some minor damage on the seatube clamp. The integrated clamp has basically snapped off, it looks a bit funny but the bike is perfectly rideable and structurally sound of a normal external seatclamp is used. Which is what I have done.

If you sawed off the top part of the seat tube, you wouldnt even be able to tell there was ever any damage.

The size of the frame is medium-largish, around 20" if I remember right. Fork is 1 1/8th threaded. I think I remember pinching the top nut of the headset from it. There is a chainset fitted (I think shimano STX) but I think one the pedal hole might be cross threaded.

Basically whats on offer is the frame, fork, a nearly complete headset, seatclamp, seat post(oversized), some damaged cranks(with chainrings), and a stem. Perhaps some flat bars too.

Its located in Birmingham. After £25

Might be into swaps. Also have suitable brake levers, derailieur, decent rear wheel for it. Will get a photo when the sun comes out.

Ok, so I went and had look at it and got some awkward pics of the bike among my hoard in the shed.

IGNORE what I said about chopping off the top of the seat tube to make the damage unoticeable. The chunk that snapped off was actually pretty huge, and I expect because of incorrect seatpost setup by the former owner.

But it is rideable without a problem, and theres no reason for it to fall apart any further. But I realise it looks pretty naff (less so with clamp in place), but it seems I already pinched the clamp to use on something else.

Small bit of good news is that the headset looks complete after all.

The seatube length is 19inches. The top tube is around 22.5inches.

Happy to accept lower offers considering seatube is worse off than I thought.

C'mon people. This will make a totally nice bike to ride. The damage is nothing, would be a great commuter bike aswell. Hard to find geometry/full rigid frames like this nowadays.

I just need the space, will take swaps.

Marinmaniac ran into money troubles so this is availabe again.

Any reasonable offer or swap gets it.
