Here is an opportunity to a get a rare chance of having a great classic of a mountain bike. For sale is a Specialized 1998 Stumpjumper M2 hand built in the USA. This is the Dew Green model. This is a perfect bike for commuting, XC or something to give the other half while they show a brief interest in biking but in the long run will give you a delightful bike afterwards. The frame is in great condition however there some minor marks/scratches and some light chainslap by the rear mech. As for the rest of the bike it is in extremely great condition for its age (Please see photo link). This has been a well cared for and looked after bike. The bike has the original bars, seat post, brakes. The drive chain has been upgraded to full XT M760. These include, shifters with dial indicators, front and rear mech, chain, hollow II cranks, chainrings, rear cassette and a new bottom bracket
Brake and gear cables, brake cartridges and brake noodles with rubber boots are all new. The head stem has been changed to a Ritchey ahead stem 1 1/8th 110mm 5 deg rise and silver X-Lite stubbie bar ends in near mint condition and have been caped off with the original Red USA specialised bar ends caps
The Forks have been replaced with the Rockshox Dart 3 with PopLoc. The forks have been completely stripped and serviced, springs greased and new oil replaced. The stanchions are scratch free as are the outer legs which are crisp clean.
Brakes are the originals Avid 2.0 with Avid SD 1.97 brake levers which again have been completely stripped, cleaned and serviced, and most impotently looking and working as good as new. These come with new brake cartridges.
The shifters are XT, again stripped cleaned and serviced, in perfect working condition. Smooth crisp gear changing. Gear cables and outer cables have both been lubed for smooth shift changing
The seatpost is Ritchey Logic Expert, 30.9mm diameter and has been re polished and decals replaced. Nice and sparkling
The seat has been replaced with Specialized Body Geometry gent’s saddle (Orange and black) in VGC
The hubs are
Front: Specialized Superfly Stout w/aluminium Skraxle
Rear: Shimano Deore LX
These have both been stripped cleaned and bearings been replaced.
Both wheels are Mavrics, true no dings no dents to the rims and spokes are straight and tight. Tyres are Specialized The Caption. The rims are Mavic 221, 32-hole, with Ritchey Logic stainless steel, 1.8mm straight gauge spokes
Rear Cassette XT M770 9 speed, Stripped and cleaned
The frame is 18” and straight with drop outs in alignment.
