For Sale: NOS 853 Handbuilt MTB Frame 20" & Campag

If this was slightly smaller I'd take it...

Pretty certain it's a Ritchey P20 frame by the way - certainly the details would suggest such, and the newly added frame number would seem to confirm.

Not too sure it'd be 853, but happy to be corrected on that.

Shame about the addition of the disc tab in my opinion, but still a great frame.

Hopefully extra info might aid your sale.

Cheers,
BB

Also, without meaning to upset anyone, I might cheekily add that whilst it may remain unridden since the 'mod' and resulant necessary respray, I would struggle to describe the frame as NOS...

I doubt it's 853. Did Ritchey ever use it?
Is the seat tube flared at the bottom?
It's very tempting... Could be a lovely Hot Rod.... :D
How long is the top tube centre- centre. How heavy is it?

There are some P20 with an PT serial number. But the seat tube is usually 27.0mm, not 26.8, and i don't remember having seen a 1" 1/8 head tube

I'd love to know what it really is, I am not massively knowledgeable on retro MTB frames, I have provided the information that was given to me when I purchased it. I do know from experience with road frames it's of a high quality build and that the frame is most likely from good provenance. I was informed it was NOS too - but I guess some peoples' interpretation of that term can be somewhat questionable.

If anyone has any clues that may lead to finding out who made and and when it was made, they'd be hugely appreciated!

Here a pic of the bottom bracket zone of a P20, with the ovalized seat tube and the hole for an E-type front mech bolt.
I think it's a Dedacciai version. My 19" frame is 1700g on the balance. Are you sure for the head tube diameter :?:

I'm not sure it's Dedacciai; I can't remember the 18MCDV having a flared seat tube.
The weight is right on the money, given it's a bigun and also has the disc tab.
Is that grey the natural metal colour, or paint?
