For Sale: NOS 853 Handbuilt MTB Frame 20" & Campag

Hi There,

I am having in a clear-out as I am moving house at the moment and space is a little short. A few of my coveted bike bits need to go in order to create more space and free cash.

Prices include UK postage, everything will be be very well packed and insured for full value of goods. payment would need to be via Payapl or bank transfer.

The first thing up for grabs is a beautiful (builder unknown) custom MTB frame, Reynolds 853 Steel, very lightweight constructed with amazingly neat TIG-welding. Stunning fillet brazed fast-back seat stays with integrated seat-bolt. The frame is of, a very distinguishable, high quality and has never been built - let alone ridden! It has been kept in dry storage in my workshop, I just simply cannot afford to build it with components to do it justice right now!

It has a Ritchey BB shell & rear dropouts. The BB shell is standard British thread and the head-tube is to take a 1 & 1/8th steerer. Disc brake only. The frame has two set of bottle bosses, top tube braze-ons for rear brake and down-tube braze-ons for F&R derailleurs.

Frame sizing: 20" seat-tube (centre-to-top) / 22.5" top-tube (centre-to-centre) / 4" Head-tube length

Price: £250 (Posted)

Secondly, I have this very hard-to-find Campagnolo MTB seatpost, 26.8mm diameter, made in Italy, the condition is very good (few small insertion marks) It can be polished to your hearts' content! Length is 330mm to clamp, 60mm to minimum insertion mark.

Price: £50 (Posted)

Please PM me if you need any more info,

Cheers!

It is how the original owner and commissioner of the frame specified it to be built.

I can't for the life of me remember who it was built by, but it's certainly 853.

The seat stay seat clamp and collar scream Ritchey, but it's anyone's guess...

What is the weight of the frame? Anything on the BB shell? Any serial numbers?

The disc mount brazing looks a bit Bob Jackson, given the bubbles, so Oi be reckoning it's had the disc mount added later.

certainly looks like more old school geometry plus you wouldnt ruin that ritchey dropout if you were the original custom builder by welding over the top of it :? not that i'm saying the frame is ruined it is of course very nice and i love the fillet brazing :D
