Don't want to sell but impending house move due to a change in personal situation forces me to...

Looking for £500

Thanks

Yep, she's a beaut and sadly since the countless hours I spent cleaning it up she's only been used once!

Price drop to £400.

Yeah, I wasn't too sure what to go for so I judged it on some eBay completed ones I'd seen in the past. Didn't seem unusual to see ones in worse condition going for £500+.

on eBay, yes, on these forums one usually asks for less

Then, one would wonder, why one would use these forums instead of eBay? A bike is worth whatever a buyer is prepared to pay for it, wherever that may be.

On Ebay you have got to pay fees and usually less savvy customers can be found and thus you can ask for steeper prices and get away with it (I call it cheating, but that is what most people usually do on there)

On these forums (retrobike, LFGSS) if a price is way off or steep or even too low, the buyer is usually advised to review it.

With a bike like this, where is your point of reference for a sale price?

It's nearly 60 years old and all original apart from tires, chrome is in great condition and paint isn't too bad either. The lugs were only produced for 2 years making it fairly rare. I've spent a lot of time and effort cleaning it up and although I don't really want to sell it, the impending separation from my mrs and the inevitable downsizing makes it hard to hang on to.

If you want to argue about prices please do it elsewhere.
