While the minimum number of bikes one should own is three, the correct number is n+1, where n is the number of bikes currently owned. This equation may also be re-written as s-1, where s is the number of bikes owned that would result in separation from your partner.

No problem with the downtube shifters my local bike shop has a few pairs tucked away in a drawer somewhere

6 months late with this, but never mind! I too have a Cles. I got it given from a mate in the UK and I brought it to Australia when we emigrated.
Its a bit tatty in parts, but a good solid bike. Very much the same as the photos posted. Was looking to get rid of it, but after reading this thread will be looking to restore it maybe.....

I am pretty sure the groupset and your bike is Campagnolo Xenon.
