@grantoury I think this is one of, if not the nicest Bike Friday I have ever seen and it's green 😍 . Check out the wood grain effect on the mudguards. Apparently a 20th anniversary edition.
I think that's real wood. No one can paint the individual layers like that, can they?
I once had some wooden mudguards on my old city bike. Not such beautiful ones but also some made of wood.

I doubt it's painted but if it's faux I'd say a good vinyl wrap, then lacquered. Might indeed be real wood.

Third pic shows a bit of the inside of the mudguard. Looks wood to me.
Agreed a very expensive build so not surprising. I first thought painted because I'm into planes. A lot of the WW1 modellers have to replicate wood in paint on the plastic kits. It looks very real. The whole assembly is around 60mm long. Not my work.
