Flite saddle date stamp

I have an old Flite with 09/87 stamped under the back, is that a date stamp as I'm led to believe?

No it is not. The date stamp is a 'dial' on top of the ridge where the front of the rails pop in.

It will point to a month and have the year in the middle.
