Flite - recovering one in white/ cream or red leather

Yes I did a zebra one and a perforated red one. The former was fabric, short term it was good but hard to clean. It was only done for one or two events.
The red perforated one was leather and sits proudly on my Gary Fisher Supercaliber to this day, I just used contact adhesive and pegs to hold it in place for a while.

How did you get the correct shape for the foam? Or did you use the existing one

Actually checking, it's an SLR and on my Bianchi X34 I carefully removed the old cover, being careful not to pull any foam off. Obviously with the different design, it was easier, especially around the nose.

Yeh this one I have is just bare shell.

Maybe it’s too ambitious for a novice. As
It’ll end up looking like a Halfords lady gels saddle no doubt

I seem to remember shaping a bit of wood to fit in the nose of the usual flite as it was tight to get pegs in the tight front section
