Flight bags/cases for bikes?

Hi everyone,am currently begining my first retro bike build and when am done this bike I will be taking it to Thailand were I have a property.I was wondering if anyone has traveled with there bikes before and how much the airlines charge plus also the best way to package the bike can you buy bags/cases for this purpose?

You can buy bike hardcases or soft cases. Hardcases offer more protection but cost more ( I have one that I'd take an offer on though). Last time I looked into flights, BA were offering to take a bike at no additional fee. Other companies varied.

Are all the bags/cases all one size as the bike am thinking about has a 20" frame a rts with spinergys will it fit ok? How much you have in mind as I have no idea of there cost!!

BA has implimented a size limitation to the case. If your bag...is bigger you will be charged a fee.
