The heavy overnight rain brought my vinegar soak up so I only need two water buckets for displacement. The vinegar is removing the paint. I’ve never had that happen before. I wonder if it is enamel or lacquer? It’s chipping off like old lacquer. It comes off easily with daily brass brush scrubbing. The nickel over copper plating kept the frame almost rust free. The only pitting, or any rust for that matter is in three small places on the top tube. One more day of soaking will finish off the rust and what little paint that remains will be sanded. The paint is already scrubbed off the hard to reach places so it should be a snap. The wet scrubbing eliminates lead air born dust. I’ll wet sand what remains. Here are the only rust spots.
