Fitting Suspension fork to '90's Kona

Has anyone fitted a suspension fork to a mid '90s Kona?
Any recommendation or advice on type etc? I'm not planning to scrap the P2s but just want to have an alternative for a bit of off road riding!

A decent 80mm fork is lovely on them. Fox F80s if you're not a racing snake, SIDs if you are.

Don't get tempted to fit period forks, most are a waste of time.
