first ride of 2013

I knocked out 21 miles on my road bike across ridiculously windy fen land.
I have a BB30 that creaks intermittently, so annoying!

Got out on a wet, cold, hilly and muddy 13 mile loop on a modern hardtail.

Quite enjoyed it really.

Not being one for New Year celebrations, even more so now we have two young children, I made the most of this beautiful morning and did a pleasant 40 miles round Mid/North Derbyshire on the Road bike

Got 35 miles under my belt on my road bike. Bloody freezing at 9am and seemed to have a strong wind against me on the way out and the way in!?! :cry:

I had all the intensions of going out but seem to have eaten/drunk/smoked a large quantity of stuff last night that disagreed with me.

5 miler to work tomorrow at 7am should blow away the cobwebs.

I hear that! every morning, without fail, when I leave to commute there is a headwind of some note. Upon returning there's a headwind too!..I guess it serves me right, the downside of living/commuting/riding near the seaside :roll:

Literally just been rescued by SWMBO after I went to do a 40 mile circuit on the road bike, and at around half way (furthest point from home) I managed to hit some glass which sliced up the tyre and punctured the tube. Fitted the spare but tyre was too badly damaged so recovery was the only option. Proper gutted too as I was averaging about 20mph and having a blast of a ride! On the plus side, whilst waiting for my rescue I ordered some new tyres and tubes from CRC and another few extra £'s worth of 'essential' parts of course
