 Have you seen his AMP - dunno if Gerry knows what metal polish is

Oh yes I do....you introduced me to it...Autosol.
I think that might be the problem...I took a leaf out of Nick's book and polished the rear before sending it back!

Okay been some time.........

The rear went off to Italy for repair back in September and after the various issues were sorted, other frame parts sent out, it came back in late November.

Meanwhile the frame had gone for powder-coating in October. I was in no hurry. They had some issues with the decals which I had to trim because even though NOS they were grubby on the edges. I wanted them to apply and then clearcoat over. They did this and I got it back in early Feb.

I'm very pleased with the job done by Maldon Shot Blasting & Powerdercoating.

Needless to say, weather, the "bug" and dealing with work, no Mayhem etc has meant I haven't really knuckled down (or felt inspired to)and done anything. Anyway some photos of the frame , rear etc.
I will get on with it!

What a transformation!

Liking the SID’s as well

Re:

Thanks chaps.
O am quite pleased with the way it has turned out.
Build wise I am still mulling over. Intial thoughts are SRAM 9.0 SL which I bought from Ian (reminds me I must get him to send them) which is about correct timewise.
Cranks I'm thinking Syncros maybe RaceFace. Headset will be red!
Riser bars will be X-lite.
The alternative is to go full XTR.
Hmmm.......

Re:

This just reminds me even more why I want another AMP variant.

M950 would look killer

 frame looks super clean with the new powder and decals - but now the SID needs a treatment too ;)

So been doing a little on the frame.
Rear attached. Needs the decals putting on.
Working on colour scheme. Thinking blue cabling with red ferrule ends. Not sure about the headset...could go blue.
Blue seat clamp. Seat post I'm not sure, the Thompson is temporary....too long.
Cranks I have a lot of choices, polished, black, orange....
The spring in the rear shock need to be painted and I am thinking either blue or red (if I can find any paint in the lock down).
Whatever...it is going to be bright. I loath the current love of black frames...bring fluro back I say!

Re:

Been doing some work.

Few set backs: the wheels I hoped to use are not going to work, so will m need to build some up which a pain.
Still mulling the headset. Getting the right blue is not straightforward as I found with the seat clamp. But will work on it.
I painted the spring blue as it had been primed by Extralite during the refurbishment.

Cranks...still a dilemma...3 choices, though there are more.My preference, barmy as it seems is the orange RF. I would paint the spring orange to match. (blue is the only colour I could get under the current lock down).

I'm thinking of a bright build...most of mine are...to reflect the exuberance of Italian 1990s colours. Tyres are going to be green Wildgrippers! (Sorry)

Syncros...which though not polished seem a little plain....could highlight the Syncros name in another colour

RF Next LP might work......ring colour might be a way of bringing them out or they could be painted (they were originally black but worn, so I cleaned/polished them).
