love the lugged Trek's from the early 90's. And your's is no exception - BUT....




get yourself a rigid fork. That SID from the late 90's is not build for the frame and just ruin the geometry.

Love this ride height. To each it's own. Wouldn't go rigid on this one.
 
I raced a ‘91 990 as a junior - was a very capable bike and the lugged frame was stunning even if it did put TREK behind the pace with changing geometry.
