FINISHED: Project #52010902963 - Cannondale SM Series 1991

Re: Project #52010902963 - Cannondale SM Series 1991

Build continues - BB and Headset now installed

XT / Mavic M281 wheels also now ready to rock... Below some testing of wheels, tires and cockpit. As frame & forks are fat, thinking that the fatter rims (28mm), tires (2.25") and big fat stem would match nicely.

I know the tires are not "right" but I actually like them... Even more so if I could get rid of the sidewall logos / decals

Re: Project #52010902963 - Cannondale SM Series 1991

Good thinking with those "fatter" components! I think they suite the frame nicely!
Tires look nice, but will prove to be useless for MTB riding, especially in our northern klimat. ;)

None of the pictures work mate... :(

Hmm, maybe now fixed(?)

Fixed and they look great, if I may add. :)

I am sorry to again be the one that says this, but photos do not work :'(

Re: Project #52010902963 - Cannondale SM Series 1991

Amazing attention to detail, and nicely documented too. I really love this paint scheme. I had one the same and with very similar tyres which I thought made one of the best looking rides ever. I wonder if you can remove the sidewall writing at all, as it does distract a little from the clean look. Look forward to seeing more progress!

Re: Project #52010902963 - Cannondale SM Series 1991

Sorry about the photos not working... Damn Google Photos - now fixed by switching to imgur!

@ street - I'm pretty sure to be able to remove the decals with a rubber eraser... the decals have been applied on top of the sidewall as thin transfers and seem bit flimsy
